Men’s health overview
How our men’s health clinic can help
You can book for a symptom, a concern you want explained, a prostate assessment discussion or a treatment question. For urology and andrology concerns, Mr Marius Rebek reviews your history and relevant risk factors in a confidential appointment.
A first visit is an assessment. Examination or tests may be recommended depending on your findings. Next steps may be advice, monitoring, further tests, a later procedure, follow-up or referral.
Conditions and symptoms
Conditions and symptoms assessed
Men book for urological, sexual health, hormone-related, fertility and related general health questions. A consultation can help you decide what to do next.
Urinary symptoms and prostate concerns
- Passing urine more often, or waking at night to urinate
- Weak, interrupted or hesitant flow
- Urgency, incomplete emptying or pain when urinating
- A change in urinary habits you want assessed
Blood in the urine
Visible blood, or blood found on a urine test, needs medical assessment. See the urgent-care guidance below.
Sexual health
- Erectile difficulties
- Changes in libido or sexual function
- Ejaculatory concerns or related discomfort
- Penile curvature
Testosterone and hormone questions
Low energy, low mood or reduced libido can have several causes. Symptoms alone do not confirm testosterone deficiency.
Fertility and andrology
- Conception taking longer than expected
- A previous abnormal semen result
- Specialist advice about reproductive health
- Vasectomy discussion
Other urological concerns
- Testicular lumps or discomfort
- Recurrent urinary infections
- Urinary stones
- Foreskin, genital or pelvic discomfort
Our services
Services and clinical pathways
Weight management
As men age, maintaining a healthy weight can become more challenging due to changes in metabolism, hormones and muscle mass. Our weight management pathway includes an individual assessment of your health, medical history, medicines and lifestyle to explore suitable options and agree the right next steps for your care.
Vasectomy
A vasectomy is intended as permanent contraception. It does not work immediately. Follow-up semen testing is normally needed, and reversal is not guaranteed to restore fertility.
Careful discussion, consent and aftercare are required.
Prostate assessment
Discussion and examination of prostate-related urinary symptoms or screening questions. This is a consultant assessment, not a defined population screening programme.
Benign prostate enlargement is one possible cause of urinary symptoms, not the only one.
LUTS and prostate enlargement
Lower urinary tract symptoms can have several causes. Benign prostate enlargement (BPH) is one possible explanation.
Assessment is needed before any treatment is discussed.
Haematuria
Blood in the urine, also called haematuria, needs medical assessment. There are several possible causes.
Read the urgent-care guidance before booking a routine appointment.
Male sexual health
Confidential assessment of erectile, libido, ejaculatory or related genital concerns. Causes may be physical, psychological, medication-related or mixed.
The aim is a suitable next step. No particular improvement can be guaranteed.
Male fertility diagnostics
Assessment when conception is taking longer than expected, or when a semen result needs specialist interpretation. Where relevant, both partners should receive advice.
No treatment can guarantee pregnancy.
Testosterone assessment and TRT
Diagnosis requires clinical assessment and blood testing. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is not suitable for everyone and is not a wellness or performance-enhancement service.
Benefits, limitations, fertility implications, risks and monitoring must be discussed before treatment.
Foreskin and genital conditions
Assessment of tightness, recurrent inflammation, discomfort or skin changes. Circumcision is one option, not automatic. Risks, recovery and aftercare must be explained before any procedure.
Suitability depends on the diagnosis.
Other clinic services
Weight management and hair-loss enquiries
Weight-management and hair-loss enquiries are handled separately from consultant urology appointments. Please contact the clinic team to confirm the appropriate service.
Hair thinning and hair loss
Hair thinning and hair loss can have different causes. An appropriate clinical assessment may be required before any treatment is discussed. Results cannot be guaranteed. Our clinic team will confirm the suitable clinician and whether a pathway is currently available.
Your visit
What happens at your appointment
Most first visits are an assessment. Tests and procedures, if recommended, are arranged according to your findings.
Confidential discussion
You can describe symptoms, concerns and what you want from the visit, including medicines and previous tests.
Clinical assessment
For urology appointments, Mr Rebek reviews your history and, where appropriate, examines the relevant area with your consent.
Investigations if needed
Further tests may be recommended depending on your symptoms and clinical findings. They are not automatic.
Personalised next steps
That may be advice, monitoring, a later procedure, further tests, follow-up or referral.

Frequently asked questions
Answers for patients
When should I see a men’s health specialist?
See a men’s health specialist if you have urinary or prostate concerns, blood in the urine, sexual health changes, fertility questions, possible hormone-related symptoms, a foreskin or genital problem, or you want to discuss vasectomy. A consultation can also help if you are not sure which service you need. Sudden severe testicular pain, inability to pass urine or other emergency symptoms need NHS care rather than a routine private appointment.
Can I see a private urologist without a GP referral?
Yes. Private self-referral is available at this clinic. You can book directly, request a callback or call Call 020 7042 5807. A GP letter is not required to enquire, but bringing previous results, a medicine list or any useful correspondence can help the consultation. The team can advise if a particular pathway still needs extra information from your GP.
What happens at a private urology consultation?
You discuss your symptoms, medical history and what you want from the visit. For urology appointments, Mr Marius Rebek may examine you with your consent and may recommend tests. Treatment is not automatic at the first visit. Some men leave with advice only; others need investigations, a later procedure, follow-up or referral.
Should blood in the urine always be checked?
Yes. Blood in the urine requires urgent medical advice. Contact your GP urgently or NHS 111 if you notice blood in your urine, even if it happens only once, there is only a small amount or you have no other symptoms. See NHS advice on blood in urine.
How is low testosterone diagnosed?
Low testosterone is not diagnosed from symptoms alone. Tiredness, low mood, reduced libido or changes in muscle mass can have several causes. Diagnosis requires a clinical assessment and blood testing, and other explanations should be considered. Testosterone replacement is not suitable for everyone and is not an automatic next step after one appointment.
What does a male fertility assessment involve?
A male fertility assessment usually starts with a history and, where appropriate, an examination. If semen analysis is arranged, it may look at sperm concentration, movement and appearance. Results need clinical interpretation, and further tests may follow. If semen analysis is recommended, the clinic will explain how and where the test is arranged. No treatment can guarantee pregnancy. Both partners may need advice.
Is a vasectomy permanent?
A vasectomy is intended as permanent contraception. It needs careful consideration and informed consent. It does not provide immediate contraception, and follow-up semen testing is normally needed. Reversal is not guaranteed to restore fertility, so other contraceptive options should be considered if you may want children later.
Is my consultation confidential?
Yes. Consultations are private. Sensitive urology and sexual-health concerns can be discussed privately and respectfully. Information is handled under the clinic’s confidentiality, website privacy and patient privacy arrangements.
